Grants to USA educators employed by schools and nonprofit organizations to enhance learning for PreK-12 students. Funding will support the development of extracurricular and in-class programming that improves learning and develops the abilities of children from low-income households.
The McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation offers Academic Enrichment Grants designed to develop in-class and extra-curricular programs that improve student learning. The Foundation considers proposals that foster understanding, deepen students’ knowledge, and provide opportunities to expand awareness of the world around them.
The Academic Enrichment Grants provide funding for programs that nurture the intellectual, artistic and creative abilities of children from low-income households.

Consider applying for a grant if:
- You have a unique idea for a project that will supplement your regular classroom curriculum or after-school activity
- Your students have ideas for enrichment activities or a need for strengthening their academic experiences
- You have facilities, expertise, and community endorsement, but need additional resources for materials, time and transportation

Estimated Size of Grant:
The McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation awards grants to individuals in amounts up to $10,000 per year for a maximum of $20,000 over two years.
Eligibility:
Additional Eligibility Criteria:
– Are employed by schools or nonprofit organizations (e.g. community centers, museums, etc.)
– Have the background and experience to complete the project successfully
– Have direct and regular contact with students in grades pre-k to 12
– Work with students from low-income households
– Are willing to work in collaboration with the Foundation
Pre-Application Information:
Important Dates:
– McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation’s Board of Trustees meet to review applications and determine funding in June of each year.
– Notifications of application status are sent on July 15 of each year. These notifications will be automatically sent to the email address used on the application.
– Grant proceeds are disbursed on August 15 of each year. The funds are mailed USPS to the address listed on the application.
– 1099s will be issued to awarded recipients by January 31 of the following year.
You may apply for both grants in the same year. Keep in mind these two programs are distinctly different so it would not be appropriate to submit the same application for both grants.
