(Conshohocken, PA - 2012) - As the holidays approach, IKEA, the Life Improvement Store, invites consumers to share in celebrating the season with the IKEA Julbord buffet. The traditional, all-you can eat holiday smorgasbord is hosted in all IKEA restaurants on Friday, December 7. For only $12.99 per person or $4.99 for kids 12 and under, guests can enjoy an endless meal of traditional Swedish food offerings such as Swedish holiday ham, smoked salmon, Swedish style meatballs with lingonberries, and much more. IKEA Family members are eligible for additional savings, with members-only Julbord pricing of $9.99 per person or $2.49 for kids 12 and under.*
Julbord is a classic Christmas dinner in Scandinavian countries. The word "Julbord" consists of two parts: "Jul," meaning Yule (synonymous with Christmas) and "Bord," meaning table. The traditional three-course Swedish Julbord is a highlight of Swedish cuisine, consisting of local and family specialties. The spread typically begins with a variety of fish as the first course, cold sliced meats such as ham as the second course, and warm dishes such as Swedish meatballs as the third course.
